FASAAD Studio is a collaborative architecture and design practice founded by Carrie Foster and Adrienne Swiatocha. Bringing together two independent practices, we combine our experience, creative perspectives, and shared commitment to thoughtful design to create spaces that are both meaningful and enduring.
With backgrounds spanning residential architecture, renovations, adaptive reuse, and commercial interiors, we bring a broad range of expertise to projects of varying scales and complexities.
Our combined experience allows us to approach each project with both a fresh perspective and a deep understanding of the practical realities of building.
We believe the best architecture grows from collaboration — between designers, clients, craftspeople, and the communities our projects serve. Through our partnership, we offer the personal attention of a small studio with the expanded resources, complementary strengths, and creative energy of a larger team.
Our Principals
FASAAD Studio brings together over 40 years of combined architectural experience across residential, commercial, and institutional design. Having each led independent practices, we joined forces around a shared commitment to thoughtful architecture, close collaboration, and a highly personal design process.
Our partnership expands the creative and technical resources we bring to each project while maintaining the direct involvement and individualized attention of a small studio.

Adrienne transitioned to FASAAD from her sole proprietorship that she ran for 10 years (Swiatocha Architecture + Design), completing projects all over the Philadelphia region, from custom single family homes through multiunit housing. Adrienne received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture at the University of Pennsylvania before joining KieranTimberlake where she contributed to the design of various institutional projects. She went on to receive her Master of Architecture at Yale University before moving to San Francisco where for eight years she served as designer and project architect with Aidlin Darling Design on many award winning restaurants and custom single family homes from conception through construction. Adrienne is a registered architect in the state of Pennsylvania (RA406776) and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Carrie brings over two decades of experience to FASAAD. Prior to forming Foster Design Farm, a successful sole proprietorship in Philadelphia, Carrie worked on a diverse range of projects across the country. Projects included high-end residential in New York and San Francisco, net-zero kit homes based in SiliconValley, and a variety of residential, boutique commercial, and adaptive reuse projects throughout the Philadelphia region. Carrie holds a Master of Architecture degree from Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and a Bachelors in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Registered architect PA (RA408918) and NJ (21AI02242100) and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Our Approach
Our work is rooted in curiosity, collaboration, and a respect for the unique character of each place. Rather than imposing a singular aesthetic, we approach each project on its own terms, guided by the people who will inhabit it, the possibilities of the existing space, and the opportunities uncovered through the design process.
Together, we offer a collaborative and hands-on process, combining creative exploration with technical expertise and a commitment to seeing ideas through to construction.
